WINTER YOGA RETREAT AT LACOSTE
Going Back to the Source of Our Creativity in Dordogne
Amanda Dates Yoga is hosting a long weekend winter retreat for unrepentant procrastinators and fellow yogi creatives who need a little encouragement in the form of a gorgeous chateau, soulful Bhakti Flow, yummy local meals, and like-minded group support to
GET STARTED - GET MOVING - OR - GET IT DONE!
Most of us have a creative project just sitting there (yet to be started, half-finished, or almost complete) waiting for a gush of inspiration.
Whether it be: that blog you want to start, the website in serious need of updating, the musical score that’s half finished, the book/article/thesis/dissertation that won't write itself, the film or video that needs editing, or that piece of fine art or handicraft that is yet to be realised, this is the retreat for you.
Leave behind all the excuses that come with our busy urban lives and join us for four days at the warm, cozy, and quiet Chateau de Lacoste. Here you will have what you need to stir up those creative juices, move past or address obstacles, and make some progress on whatever creative project is lingering in your heart and mind.
Inspiration will come in many forms: daily Bhakti Flow with yours truly, guided meditation in a cozy room with a crackling fire, walking meditation on the grounds of the Chateau or longer hikes in the Black Perigord forest, mantra with live music, shared locally sourced and seasonally appropriate meals, lots of solo time, and the support of your retreat colleagues (if you choose).
We will also use other creative tools such as mandala art and a technique called Oblique Strategies, designed by Brian Eno.
All we ask is that you come with a creative project (and your own supplies) and a heart’s desire to GET STARTED - GET MOVING - OR - GET IT DONE.
This is not exclusively for professional artists. This is for ANYONE! Within the many and varied layers of our Dharma, at our SOURCE, we all have the desire to create and contribute our flavour of beauty/inspiration/provocation to the world. And the world needs it now more than ever. So, come one and all!

Who are we?
A New York native, but called San Francisco home for more than a decade, Amanda Dates has now found meaning sharing yoga in her adopted city, Paris. She is the co-founder and co-director of Expansion, Freedom & Voice™ a 9-month intensive Yoga Alliance certified teacher training, as well as, Going Back to the Source - Yoga & Terroir™ international yoga retreats (since 2005), with a focus on food, culture, social change, and local economies. When she isn't offering her signature Bhakti Flow style at Big Apple Yoga France or Paris Yoga Shala, she can be found tending her garden at her petite fermette, L'Oustalou, the future yoga and arts centre she and her husband are renovating.
SisterWood Yoga was funded by Pauline and Juliette, two sisters and yoga teachers. They were trained by Amanda Dates and Janelle Waters Olliel from Expansion, Freedom &Voice training in 2016. They both started yoga in Dordogne around 6 years ago.
